Friday Back & Then

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.

Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts.

And we are never, ever the same.-- Anonymous

An old friend sent me a message in YM just as I was about to go home today. A simple “Hi, how are you?” brings back old memories once again. For the next 30minutes or so, I found myself staring on the cell phone, replying every single incoming message from her. It was a simple, small talk at first and it slowly goes on to our college day memories.

How time flies and people changed along the way. We’re no longer as close as we once were and it hurts so much not being able to bring our self to talking on the phone, instead of YM-ing. It’s not like we had arguments in our past friendship, but I guess the distance made us who we are right now. We haven’t seen or talk to each other for a long time and it would be really awkward for us to talk on the phone. I know neither of us would be able to create a topic for the conversation.. so at the moment, YM-ing is the only option.

I wish I could just tell her how much I enjoy for having her as my friend, how much I miss all the crazy things we did together with other girls..

My mom once told me that soon after you got married, you’ll miss your bachelorhood.

After having babies, you’ll miss your two togetherness with husband. Then when your sweethearts grow up and busy with their buddies, you’ll miss times when you’re feeding them. When they finally get married, soon you’ll cry for missing them come back home.

… and this ‘missing’ list will just continue…

I agreed. Until we are hit by big changes, we don’t usually notice how life and we ourselves are changing from moment to moment. Especially in the face of “lost”.

Anyway, what i’m trying to say here is, if not for YM-ing, we may not even contact each other at all.
